TWICE UPON A TIME… BOOK CLUBS FOR A CAUSE! | The Children's Book Bank Blog

Book clubs are an increasingly popular way to enjoy stories and create memorable reading experiences. You can share your love of reading by supporting The Children’s Book Bank through your book club!

The Children’s Book Bank wants Canadian book clubs to share their love of books and ‘pay it forward’ by committing to take part in this new book club movement.

Specifically, we want book clubs to commit to 3 things:

1. Coordinate book drops among members and friends. These can be books from your own collections, your children’s collections, or additional books you purchase along with your book clubs’ selection. Books can be delivered to The Children’s Book Bank storefront. We depend on our individuals like you to replenish our inventory – we go through 10,000 books a month!

2. Collect financial contributions from members. Collect contributions from members at each meeting, or pledge monthly donation to the Book Bank Canada Helps  page as a club ‘membership fee.’ This helps provides us with a consistent source of funds to support our day-to-day operations.

3. Spread the word! Recent surveys prove that a large portion of our inventory comes to us through word-of-mouth recommendations. Keep up the good work and help us promote The Children’s Book Bank! Also, be sure to follow us on social media: Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!

Please support this great initiative and in turn help support The Children’s Book Bank in our efforts to provide free books and literacy support to children in low-income neighbourhoods throughout Toronto!

The new norm: give the gift of reading with every book you read!
